The alt.games.dice FAQ describes Dragon Dice as

"...TSR, Inc.'s trademark for their collectible fantasy dice game. Each player creates armies from selections from their collections (usually using a couple of dozen dice). Each player chooses a terrain die as 'home', and random selection determines who chooses the central 'frontier' die. Players take turns attacking each others' armies, trying to capture terrains, and so on, until one player captures two terrains or all the other players have no armies left."
